Pennsylvania Solar Power Bill (HB1)

In February 2008 we helped our friends at Vote Solar to garner support for bill HB1, the Alternative Energy Investment Act. This legislation would free up $200 million in rebates for Pennsylvanians installing solar energy systems.

Good news! The bill passed the House and was recently signed into law by Governor Rendell. Half of the money will be used to fund a program that will help consumers install solar systems; another $80 million will go to loans and grants for larger-scale solar projects.

It’s another step taken toward creating our Solar Nation!
